Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) 2019 : 67 Points

Question 1: What is the difference between the 67 point system and the express entry system for immigration to Canada?

Answer: Canada immigration is having so many programs available for the immigrants who want to get settled down in Canada in the search of better career and lifestyle. Canada is a land of opportunities. It is growing in all the sectors. Under the flagship of Skilled worker they have the fastest process for Permanent Residence seeker known as Express Entry program. Express entry system is based on point system. Here we calculate points on the basis of Age Education Language Ability i.e. IELTS Work Experience and spouse adaptability points are also there. These points are calculated on the scale of 100.

For age you can get maximum 12 points, for Education you can get maximum 25 points, for Work experience you can get maximum 15 points and for IELTS you get maximum 24 points, 4 points you get if you have French language ability, 5 points you can claim for your spouse education and language ability, if you have arranged employment letter that 10 points you can claim for that as well, 5 points if you or your spouse have any blood relative in Canada. So if you are able to achieve 67 points out of 100 than you are eligible for Express Entry program. This means that both Express entry and 67 points based system is the one and same thing.

Question 2 : What is 67 points PR system in Canada?
Answer: In Canada few of the eligibility determining criteria is there. These are as follows:
  1. Age: For age you can get maximum 12 points
  2. Education: for Education you can get maximum 25 points
  3. IELTS: IELTS you get maximum 24 points
  4. French: 4 points you get if you have French language ability
  5. Spouse Adaptability: 5 points you can claim for your spouse education and language ability
  6. Blood Relative: 5 points if you or your spouse have any blood relative in Canada
  7. Arranged Employment: if you have arranged employment letter that 10 points you can claim for that

The above mentioned points are 100 in total. To qualify for Canada Immigration under Express Entry you need to score 67 points to be eligible. This is the 67 points system.

Question 3 : Is there any province in Canada accepting below 67 points for the Express Entry?

Answer: When we talk about 67 points criteria than here we need to understand that 67 points you need to score if you want to qualify for Express Entry stream. But also there are some other Provincial Nominee Programs available. These PNP program does not need you to have 67 points out of 100. They follow different point system or eligibility criteria. Some of the PNP’s want you to have job offer letter, other will need you to be already staying over there, Some provinces need any education qualification degree from that province itself, and some does not have any eligibility criteria, there you can submit your EOI simply and you will get nominated if they approve your application on the basis of their requirement.

Question 4 : How can one migrate to Canada without 67 points and not so much money for a business visa?

Answer: Well PR visa is the simplest way of migrating to Canada. You will get all the benefits if you get a PR rather than business visa which will only allow you to do business and you cannot reap any benefits of a PR holder. You can simply qualify 67 points based system. Your points will be calculated on the basis of age education IELTS, work experience and spouse adaptability. Here we calculate points on the basis of Age Education Language Ability i.e. IELTS Work Experience and spouse adaptability points are also there. These points will be calculated on the scale of 100 and if you secure 67 points you can apply under Express Entry program and if somehow you are unable to have 67 points than you can explore PNP programs available as well.

Question 5 : Should I apply for Canada PR if my normal score reach 67 points but in detail CRS I got 346 only without a PNP program?

Answer: FSW points or 67 points is the minimum eligibility criteria. If someone qualify this score than they can apply for Canada PR under Express Entry stream. SO if you are able to score 67 points out of 100 on the basis of the mandatory criteria than you can apply under Federal Government’s Express Entry stream. Now talking about the CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System, than here I would like to clarify that these points have a different system than the FSW. Here the points are calculated on the scale of 1200. If you are scoring 346 in the CRS and willing to improve your CRS score than you can do it by increasing your IELTS scores. I wont be able to give you exact figures that you need to score because that will need a proper assessment of your profile. For detailed assessment of your profile you can contact Oneclick visas directly.

Question 6 : Can I get PR in Canada by applying for a Canadian PNP without having the qualifying 67 points?

Answer: Canada is a land of opportunities. It gives you the opportunity to migrate to different provinces wherever you are eligible for. If you are not able to score the points as per minimum eligibility criteria than you can apply in the provinces where its not mandatory to score 67 points. 67 points are basically required if you want to apply under Express Entry stream. But if that is not your only choice than you can apply under different PNP programs. Saskatchewan is having occupation in demand stream where you do not need to have your profile in Express Entry poll or in other words you do not need to score 67 points for being eligible. This is one single example, there are other provinces as well.

Question 7 : What if an aspirant to Canada has just secured the cutoff for eligibility to apply, i.e. just 67 points? Does that make any impact in future for ITA?
Answer: Securing the minimum eligibility scores is not a bad thing. Whether it will make a difference on your profile or not will need a proper assessment of your data. I will be able to tell you that only if I get your complete details like age education language points work experience spouse adaptability points if married. So kindly share all these details with our immigration experts at Oneclick visas and get a proper assessment of your profile.
Question 8 : Is the Express Entry of Canada really helpful for immigration or can we directly apply under the federal skilled worker category for 67 points now or is that process eliminated this year?
Answer: Express entry stream is nothing different than federal governments immigration program which need you to score 67 points out of 100 to be eligible for this stream. In other words, federal skilled worker category, 67 points, and Express Entry stream all is the one and same thing. Express entry stream got introduced in January 2015 and since than there is no such news of elimination of this program. Express Entry is the fastest stream and lakhs of people have got migrated under this program. IRCC’s multiyear plan has already been introduced for the year 2019-2021. S, there is no such news of elimination of Express Entry stream in the coming three years at least.
Question 9 : What if your score is less than 67 points (out of 100) and you are not qualified to immigrate to Canada as a “federal skilled worker”, what other options are there?
Answer: If you are not able to score the points as per minimum eligibility criteria than you can apply in the provinces where its not mandatory to score 67 points. 67 points are basically required if you want to apply under Express Entry stream. But if that is not your only choice than you can apply under different PNP programs. Also, if you are not able to migrate to Canada as Federal Skilled Worker than you can explore other programs like Federal Skilled Trade, or if you have experience in Canada than under Canadian Experience class. You can also migrate on job or employment visa. SO that will be your choice completely.
Question 10 : How can I get PR in Canada if my points are less than 67?
Answer: Canada gives you the opportunity to migrate to different provinces wherever you are eligible for. If you are not able to score the points as per minimum eligibility criteria than you can apply in the provinces where its not mandatory to score 67 points. 67 points are basically required if you want to apply under Express Entry Stream. PNP program does not need you to have 67 points out of 100.
Question 11 : Is 67 points under FSW or FSTW required in express entry?
Answer: 67 points are basically required if you want to apply under Express Entry stream. PNP program does not need you to have 67 points out of 100. They follow different point system or eligibility criteria. If you are not able to migrate to Canada as Federal Skilled Worker than you can explore other programs like Federal Skilled Trade Worker, or if you have experience in Canada than under Canadian Experience class. You can also migrate on job or employment visa. In Express Entry stream its mandatory to score 67 points out of 100 but in case of FSTW its not mandatory.
