Saskatchewan Immigration latest News 2018

Saskatchewan is a well-popularised Canadian province bordering the United States. The lush green province is known to attract thousands of skilled immigrants every year through its provincial nomination program called The Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP).

SINP is known for being one of the most in demand immigration programs in Canada. The province intakes limited number of applicants and thus its quota reaches its intake limit in no time. Every year, the province opens its intake at a particular period of time. The applicant has to be quick enough to grab this opportunity. The intakes are based upon the labour market needs and skill deficiencies of the current Saskatchewan market scenario and thus to be eligible, a candidate has to be skilled enough to qualify.

To qualify, one must be proficient in terms of his/her age, educational qualifications, work experience, language skills and other similar factors. Also, your Job profile must be present in the Saskatchewan otherwise; the province would not nominate you or accept your application for direct admission. Following are the highly in-demand Jobs in the province of Saskatchewan:

NOC Occupation
2154 Land surveyors
3111 Psychiatrists
3215 Medical Radiation Technologists
3234 Paramedics
4151 Psychologists
4212 Social and community service workers
4214 Early childhood educators and assistants
3211 Medical laboratory technologists
3216 Medical sonographers
6331 Meat cutters
7201 Contractors and supervisors, machining, metal forming, shaping and erecting trades and related occupations
7204 Contractors and supervisors, carpentry trades
7311 Industrial mechanics
7312 Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
7321 Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics
7322 Motor vehicle body repairers
7237 Welders
7384 Recreation Vehicle Service
0822 Managers in horticulture

One of the most important factors considered in the SINP is the nature of an applicant’s occupation. Only those candidates whose occupations fall into one of three skilled worker categories as defined by the National Occupational Classification (NOC) – “A”, “B” or “0” qualify for immigration.

If your occupation is listed in the demand list of Saskatchewan, then you can apply to the provincial program in the below mentioned manner:

  1. All the applicants applying to the Saskatchewan’s SINP first need to apply to Express Entry i.e., through the federal program. After filing Express Entry, you can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to Saskatchewan. The province will then access your application and consider giving you a nomination.
  2. The candidates must make sure to get a score higher than 60 points out of 100. This is the minimum point’s requirement by Saskatchewan. The SINP point assessment criteria focuses on a number of credentials and on the basis of proficiency in each credential, applicant is given a certain rank, score or rating. These credentials are – age, educational qualification, work experience, language ability, arranged employment and adaptability in Saskatchewan.
  3. The candidate then must also arrange for a valid as well as minimum required proof of funds which is mandatory if you are moving to Saskatchewan without a job offer. It must be part of your settlement plan and provide for the cost of living expense for every accompanying family member of yours coming with you to the province. Note that this proof of funds is only mandatory if you are planning to immigrate to Saskatchewan without a job offer. The condition is waved off if you manage to get a Job offer from the province.
